Local Spotlight: Colorado Catsup

The year is 2014 and a kid's birthday party is ramping up in a Fort Collins backyard. The grill is going, Summer is here, and everyone is having a blast... A homemade Carolina mustard & vinegar based sauce is being mixed into pulled pork - just like they do in the south. And where is the ketchup?
For years, Shane Anderson had been making his own sauces for birthday parties and backyard BBQs, but it wasn't until 2016 that he and CO Catsup Co-Founder Matt Parker teamed up to make a locally made, locally bottled, and locally sweetened sauce trio that has quickly become a staple in many homes.
Tired of feeding their family & friends high fructose corn syrup and other processed ingredients found in the leading condiment brands, Matt & Shane decided to make their own. In Fall of 2016, they started testing recipes and by Spring 2017, they began selling it at, you guessed it, local farmer's markets!
Since then, Colorado Catsup has continued to create exceptional condiments with clean ingredients and local Colorado honey. In the end, their condiments are a healthier choice made with premium ingredients. It doesn't get better than this!
The Colorado Catsup is a classic version of ketchup, perfect on burgers or hotdogs and the mustard is a sweet & spicy blend that's got a wonderful tanginess from a splash of vinegar - it's like they do it in the Carolinas!
Be on the lookout for these beautiful bottles towards the holidays, too! They make exceptional gifts for the foodie in your life.
Fun Fact: Catsup and Ketchup are essentially the same, these days! Once upon a time, ketchup was referred to as "catsup." In the late 1800s, H.J. Heinz Company changed the name to "ketchup" in order to differentiate themselves from their competitors. The "ketchup" name stuck and "catsup" became more of an old-fashioned or regional wording for America's most popular condiment.
Don't just take our word for it...
